I’x is an energy through which we connect to the powers of the universe, the earth, and our inner being. It is expanding our mind to reach higher levels of consciousness, knowing that within us we possess the wisdom to work with the energies, that we have the power to create reality. I’x reminds us of the importance of not becoming trapped in the perfectionist search for knowledge, as when we free ourselves and break the rigid structures of our minds we can delve into magical wisdom. The number Kab’lajuj (12) brings the energy of community and sharing, it is a force that allows us to harmonize our relationships.
The energy of this day arises to remind us that although healing often means that we will discover things about ourselves that make us uncomfortable, we should continue to move forward in our healing process. That when we allow ourselves to go within without fear and understand the teaching that our wounds bring, we can understand the purpose of their existence. That those who have the courage to heal and experience themselves, are the ones who become aware of how wonderful life is.
The happiness of existence is found in the simplest things, those that can also be the most profound, such as the nature that surrounds us, the wise look of a grandmother, the smile of a child, the opportunity to support someone, a hug, the sun and the stars that illuminate us, or the time we take to meditate and listen to our inner self. Let us never forget that life is an incredible mystical journey, we just have to be present and experience it to the fullest.
One of the pillars of Maya teachings is that of finding our center, of living a life of harmony and balance. This concept is present in the practices, rituals, self-development work, and in every aspect of Maya Spirituality. The calendar and the beginning of a new energetic cycle in the count of the days is no exception.

The number Wajxaqib’ (8) provides us with strength and energy, its power connects us with the physical and material world, with our experience in this reality.
The energy of Toj arises to remind us that gratefulness is one of the most powerful acts we can practice. Kej is the spirit of the forests, mountains, and hills, the guardian of nature. Its wisdom comes to remind us that we are connected to everything around us, that just as the plants, animals, and each being that inhabits Mother Earth, we are an essential part of creation. Kej invites us to return to a simple and harmonious existence, to live in balance and union with nature, with the elements, to connect with the millenary knowledge that the Earth brings us, with the learning and healing that comes from her. This Ch’umil also represents strength and balance, it is the deer that has a leg in each of the four directions, the energy that maintains the equilibrium of life.
