Toj is the law of cause and effect; it is the payment, the atonement to Mother Earth, to all the elements, and to the Creator and Maker. Number 1 contains strength and experience; it is realization and magic. Everything you do generates a reaction, and this reaction is based on the real intention, the essence, of your actions. Let your actions be driven by passion, justice, love, and consciousness, remember that each step you take is part of a larger process that leads you to your own self-realization. This is the first day of the Toj trecena (thirteen days); this is a good period to be grateful for all we have received during life and to ask that we will find no obstacles along the way.

In this sacred day Toj I am grateful for your sacred blessing in my home and my family, Ajaw of the Sky. I ask you to vanish all penance that may exist in the hearts and thoughts of people. I ask that no penance can harm me during the course of my lifetime, that you will vanish all desperation, that there are no unforeseen accidents in my life, Ajaw B’itol and Tz’aqol. I ask that your blessings will come to my path, my destiny, and my whole life; that my existence will be joyous before your presence, Ajaw B’itol Tz’aqol. I give thanks to you, Ajaw, for blessing us with the rain, a blessing that the Heart of the Sky and the Heart of Mother Earth gives us. I ask that your holy water will transform the energy in our veins and the veins of all the creatures that live over the face of Mother Earth. I am grateful for the water that assuages our thirst and I ask you to vitalize my life every day, Ajaw. Maltiox, maltiox, maltiox, and four times maltiox.

Q’anil represents the seed of life, the energy of creation and constant regeneration; it is the symbol of sharing. Number 13 contains strength and experience; it is realization and it has the magic of being able to change and create. Plant inside you the seeds of awareness, wisdom and self realization, so that you can then share the fruits with those around you. Work on your own development and self-realization, but always remember that you are also an important part of a greater being called humanity.

Kej, represented by the deer, symbolizes the balance and the strength of this animal; it is the energy that protects the natural world and is called to maintain balance between humans and Mother Earth. Number 12 represents the consciousness of being. Connect through the energies of this day to the energy and wisdom of nature, hug a tree and connect to its energy to take in its wisdom and consciousness, to absorb its ability to grow with stability and strength.

Kame represents death; it is all the cycles that manifest during our life. Number 11 is the energy of spiritual tests and payments, a day to learn thorough experience and transmute experiences into knowledge. All the challenges that you face during life come to you because your spirit is ready to evolve and grow, they come to bring you spiritual strength and to allow you to advance on the cycles of life. Embrace these challenges and transform their teachings into strength, wisdom, and spirituality.

Kan symbolizes energy; it is the energy of the serpent that moves through our spine, it is the force of life. Number 10 represents the cosmic and telluric energies that connect with our body through our fingers and toes. Allow these energies to penetrate your body and course up your spine with all the energy of the Heart of the Sky and the Heart of Mother Earth. This day is charged with life forces, connect to it.

K’at symbolizes the net; it is the energy that either tangles us in a web, mostly of our own making, or helps us group and bring together the people, thoughts and elements we need for our development. Number 9 represents the circle of life; it is the power of love, wisdom, and spirituality. The nets that trap you and prevent you from achieving what you want in life were created by you, but you also have the strength and power to tear them down, don’t become entangled in things that are not important.

Number 8 represents the physical and material world. Aq’ab’al represents the polarity in this world of duality, it is also the first ray of light in the sunrise.  Today is an opportunity to rise above the physical challenges we face by deepening our realization of the unity that connects us together.  Let today’s energy bring a new light to transcend feelings of separation and move us towards our deeper purpose in this physical plane.

Number 7 symbolizes faith, intuition, and introspection. Iq’ represents the wind that activates, renews, and purifies us. The confluence of these two energies allows us to renovate ourselves physically, mentally, spiritually, and emotionally. Take some time during this day to become aware of the air you are breathing and notice how it is purifying and renewing your whole energy.

Imox is the energy that governs change; it puts the mind in a receptive mode, creating the interconnection of ideas. Number 6 symbolizes challenges and confrontation. Connect through the energy of Imox to your intuition; trust your gut feeling and your ability to create whatever you set your mind to. If you don’t trust yourself you will always have to depend on others to accomplish your life purpose and this can bring you dissatisfaction and inner confrontation.

Number 5 symbolizes elevation to creation; it is the energy of action. Ajpu, represented by the blowgun hunter, is the Spiritual Warrior who brings certainty and acuity; it is the force that helps us overcome the negative. Today number five brings opportunities and luck, and Ajpu gives you the ability to overcome any obstacles you may find in the way. Walk your path with courage; don’t be afraid of the challenges that may rise, you have the strength to face them and to obtain what you are aiming for.
