This day is ruled by Ajaw 13 Kej, which manifests the powerful force of nature. Ch’umil Kej is the vision of harmony with Mother Earth, the awareness of being united with her, and the certainty that human destiny is inseparable from the destiny of the other beings who share this journey with us, plants and animals as well as people. We share a common destiny, and from this arises the call to become truly aware of what we are doing to the planet, to Mother Earth.
We lack compassion. Every day thousands of species disappear, hundreds of thousands of brother trees are cut down, we pollute the environment, and poison the air and the waters of rivers, lakes and even the sea. It seems we are willing to destroy our Mother Earth. We have become the most damaging plague. But what can I say, if we do not respect ourselves, what can other living beings expect. We treat our own bodies as if we wished to destroy them, and so we move through life without direction or destination.
Today we are immersed in alienation, intolerance, racism, classism and disrespect for all forms of life. The drums of destruction and confrontation beat with full force, and few people do anything to stop this disorder. Many believe that the problems of pollution, destruction and unconsciousness will not affect them. The work, then, is to become truly aware, to ask forgiveness, and also to take action. We must not remain only in lament. We must preserve, clean and share this awareness. Let us remember the beauty of the forest, the green mountains, Father Sun setting on the horizon, the song of birds, the flight of an eagle, the wonder of a lake, the fall of water in a waterfall. So much beauty we are depriving ourselves of and limiting for future generations. Let us close this trecena with hearts full of harmony and with balance in our purpose of being human.
Remember that you are part of this creation, that you are part of the universe and that, like all beings, you have the right to exist.

El día de hoy está regido por el Ajaw 13 Kej, quien manifiesta la poderosa fuerza de la naturaleza. Ch’umil Kej es la visión de armonía con la Madre Tierra, es la conciencia de estar unidos a ella, la certeza de que el destino del ser humano va unido al de los demás seres que nos acompañan en esta jornada, tanto plantas y animales como personas tenemos un destino común, y de ahí surge el llamado a tener verdadera conciencia de qué estamos haciendo al planeta, a la Madre Tierra.
No tenemos compasión. Cada día desaparecen miles de especies, se cortan cientos de miles de hermanos árboles, contaminamos el ambiente, envenenamos el aire y el agua de los ríos, lagos y hasta el mar. Pareciera que estamos dispuestos a destruir a nuestra Madre Tierra, nos hemos convertido en la plaga más dañina, pero qué te digo, si no nos respetamos a nosotros mismos, qué pueden esperar los demás seres vivos. A nuestro cuerpo lo tratamos como si deseáramos acabar con él y así vamos como locos, sin rumbo ni destino.
Hoy estamos sumidos en la enajenación, la intolerancia, el racismo, el clasismo y el irrespeto a toda forma de vida. Los tambores de destrucción y confrontación suenan con toda su fuerza y son pocas las personas que hacen algo por frenar este descontrol. Pareciera que creen que el problema de la contaminación, la destrucción y la inconsciencia no nos va a tocar. Entonces el trabajo es tomar real conciencia, pedir perdón, pero también tomar acción, no quedarnos solo en el lamento; hay que conservar, limpiar y divulgar. Recordemos la belleza del bosque, las montañas verdes, el Padre Sol poniéndose en el horizonte, el canto de las aves, el vuelo de un águila, la maravilla de un lago, la caída del agua en una cascada. En fin, tanta maravilla de la que nos estamos privando y que estamos limitando a las generaciones futuras. Cerremos esta trecena con el corazón lleno de armonía y con balance en nuestro propósito de ser humanos.
Recuerda que eres parte de esta creación, que eres parte del universo y que, al igual que todos, tienes derecho a existir.
Hoy finaliza la trecena de Ajaw Tz’ikin, en la que quise recordar y honrar a mi papá, volver a compartir su sabiduría y conectar con sus mensajes. Maltyox Ajaw Tz’ikin, maltyox Tat Carlos Barrios y maltyox a cada uno de ustedes que comparten y lo recuerdan conmigo. ~Denise
