On the second day of Tz’apiq’ij, according to the teachings shared with me by my father, Tat Carlos Barrios, he dedicated it to self-recognition. This is the day to become aware of who we truly are, being honest with ourselves, without lying or making excuses, regardless of whether we like what we see or not, simply observing ourselves without judgment or harshness, just honesty.
This day invites us to practice introspection, to reconnect with ourselves, to explore each of our four manifestations —physical, spiritual, mental and emotional— and to recognize who we are in this moment of our life. Let us begin with the physical and material body, what are we physically and materially, where do we want to go and what do we want to achieve. Let us reflect on our spiritual experience and growth, where do we want to go and what do we want to develop. In the mental realm, let us notice our thoughts, which ones do we give power and importance to, what knowledge has nourished our mind, and what do we want to reach. Let us connect with our emotions, asking ourselves if we have allowed ourselves to feel them and what do we want to cultivate through our emotional experience. Let us look at the whole. Are we nourishing each plane? Are we giving more or less energy to any of them? Are we embracing them or rejecting them? Like yesterday, we can write so that these notes may later help us project the Haab’ year we are about to receive.
Today the energy of Lajuj Aq’ab’al can give us the courage to go deep into our being and carry a light that brings clarity.

Este es el día para tomar consciencia de quiénes somos en realidad, siendo sinceros con nosotros mismos, sin mentirnos ni excusarnos, indiferentemente de si nos gusta lo que vemos o no, simplemente observándonos sin juzgar ni ser duros, solo honestos.
Este día nos invita a hacer una introspección, a reconectarnos con nosotros mismos, explorarnos en cada una de nuestras cuatro manifestaciones —físico, espiritual, mental y emocional— y reconocer quiénes somos en este momento de nuestra vida. Podemos empezar por el cuerpo físico y material, qué somos física y materialmente, hacia dónde queremos ir y qué queremos alcanzar. Analizar cuál ha sido nuestra experiencia y crecimiento espiritual, hacia dónde queremos ir y qué queremos desarrollar. En el plano mental, observar cuáles son nuestros pensamientos, a cuáles les damos fuerza e importancia, con qué conocimiento hemos nutrido nuestra mente y qué queremos alcanzar. Conectemos con nuestras emociones, preguntándonos si nos hemos permitido sentirlas y qué queremos desarrollar a través de nuestra experiencia emocional. Veamos el todo, ¿estamos nutriendo cada plano?, ¿le damos a alguno más o menos de nuestra energía?, ¿lo abrazamos o lo rechazamos? Al igual que ayer, podemos escribir para que estas notas nos ayuden luego a proyectar el año Haab’ que estamos por recibir.
Hoy la energía de Lajuj Aq’ab’al nos puede dar el valor de ir a lo más profundo de nuestro ser y llevar una luz que nos dé claridad.
