As many of you know, every year Saq’ Be’ travels to the community in Chichicastenango, Guatemala to pick up the traditional Mayan Cholq’ij calendars they produce. We return with them and make them available for sale, returning the profits to the community to support their continued efforts to keep the traditional ways alive. Unfortunately, we do not know when we will be able to return this year and are thus uncertain as to when the 2005 calendars will become available. As a way of compensating for our lack of hard copy calendars, we are making available the same Cholq’ij/ Gregorian overlay on our website, which can be viewed on the front page. We have also made available information on the meaning of the Nawales (glyphs) and numbers presented. Click “read more” to view additional infromation on this calendar. Nawal Tz’i’ offers you the faculty to rectify any injustice that you may encounter; number 3 will bring positive results for your efforts. Light a candle to ask the Creator to always help you act with fairness.

This is a special day to thank the Creator with an offering, thank Him for everything you have, the opportunities you have received throughout your life and for what is still ahead. Nawal Q’anil represents the seed of life, the energy of creation; number 1 brings the power of unity, it is the beginning. Scatter many seeds of love during the course of your passage through this day, and without doubt all the good actions you may plant today will bring positive fruits into your life
13 Kej
Number 13 marks the end of a cycle that is balanced by the power of Kej, which represents solidity and stability. Kej is the deer that has one foot in each of the cardinal points, gather the energy the deer will bring you from each of the four corners of the world.

Kame is the energy of our spiritual family and our lineage; it has the power of our ancestors, who protect us and guide us throughout our life. Number 12 represents the consciousness of being.
