As many of you know, every year Saq’ Be’ travels to the community in Chichicastenango, Guatemala to pick up the traditional Mayan Cholq’ij calendars they produce. We return with them and make them available for sale, returning the profits to the community to support their continued efforts to keep the traditional ways alive. Unfortunately, we do not know when we will be able to return this year and are thus uncertain as to when the 2005 calendars will become available. As a way of compensating for our lack of hard copy calendars, we are making available the same Cholq’ij/ Gregorian overlay on our website, which can be viewed on the front page. We have also made available information on the meaning of the Nawales (glyphs) and numbers presented. Click “read more” to view additional infromation on this calendar. This is a good day to attract prosperity and abundance, send the energy of prosperity to the cosmos, act prosperous by buying something special for yourself, donating money to a cause you believe in, or doing something that expresses abundance, the Universe will send this energy back to you.
9 Tijax – Today’s Ch’umil
Tijax symbolizes the double-bladed obsidian knife which allows us to open new paths. Number 9 represents the circle of life; it is love and spirituality. Embrace those things that bring blessings to your life, and use the knife of Tijax to cut and leave behind the things that are harming you. Ajmaq is a favorable day to focus on the word and message of our ancestors; it is a day for forgiveness and introspection. Number 7 symbolizes spirituality; it is the manifestation of the Creator and Maker on earth. Today we can delve deeper into the purpose and direction of our life.

Tz’ikin is the emotional and material luck; it is represented by the bird, who gives you the power of an expanded and panoramic vision. Number 6 is an unstable energy; it symbolizes life’s trials and personal development. Use the energy of Tz’ikin to open your wings and fly with harmony and freedom; ask it for its luck to overcome any challenges that may rise during this day.

Number 5 represents the love that comes into your life and flows from you. I’x is the feminine and feline energy that gives you power, strength, and cunning; it is the power of expanding your mind and reaching high levels of consciousness.
