Sometimes the hard part is not giving but opening ourselves to receive and remembering that love is also accepting what others want to offer us.

On this day, the energy reminds us that we are communal beings and that we do not walk the path of existence alone. I was thinking that when we talk about spiritual wisdom, the focus is often on what we can give, how to contribute, respect others’ paths, and share our light. All of that is valuable and beautiful, but today I want to turn my attention to something different, to receiving.

Let us observe how open we are to that vulnerable part that involves asking for help and accepting support when we need it. Receiving is also a spiritual act; it means giving space for someone else to share their light with us, and that is also love. Let us not put on the shell of believing we are so strong that we close the door to what someone else can lovingly offer us, or hold the false belief that we can do everything alone and do not need anyone.

I think this is a meaningful reflection for today. Once a Nan told me that if we close ourselves to receiving, we also close ourselves to the more subtle blessings, our intuition, gifts, and messages. As Kawoq says, abundance is born when we share, and opening ourselves to receive is also part of that.
A veces lo difícil no es dar sino abrirnos a recibir y recordar que el amor también está en aceptar lo que alguien quiere darnos.

Hoy que la energía nos recuerda que somos seres comunitarios, que no caminamos solos el camino de la existencia, pensaba que cuando hablamos de sabiduría espiritual muchas veces el enfoque está en lo que podemos dar, en cómo aportar, respetar los caminos de los demás, compartir nuestra luz. Todo eso es valioso y hermoso, pero hoy quise poner la atención en algo diferente, el recibir.

Observemos qué tanto nos abrimos a esa parte vulnerable que implica pedir ayuda, aceptar apoyo cuando lo necesitamos. Recibir también es un acto espiritual, es dar espacio para que alguien más nos comparta su luz y eso también es amor. No nos pongamos esa caparazón de creernos tan fuertes que cerramos la puerta a lo que alguien más puede darnos con amor, a tener esa falsa creencia de que podemos solos, de que no necesitamos a nadie.

Creo que es una reflexión bonita para este día. Una vez una Nan me dijo que si nos cerramos a recibir en este plano también nos cerramos a los regalos más sutiles, a la intuición, los dones, las señales. Como dice Kawoq, la abundancia nace cuando compartimos y abrirnos a recibir también es parte de eso.

The energy we spend to run away from what we are afraid of, from that inner part that scares us, the effort we must make to avoid expressing what we need and feel or to set boundaries when something is hurting us, is as great as the energy and effort required to look within, even into the most difficult parts, to express what we are feeling and to have the courage to prioritize ourselves from a place of love. La energía que usamos para huir de aquello que nos da miedo, de esa parte interna que nos asusta; el esfuerzo que debemos hacer para evitar expresar lo que necesitamos y sentimos o para poner límites cuando algo nos está dañando, es tan grande como la energía y el esfuerzo que requerimos para observar nuestro interior, incluso las partes más complejas, expresar lo que estamos sintiendo y tener el valor de priorizarnos desde el amor. Y aunque pareciera más fácil cargar con ese escudo que creemos que nos protege, en realidad su peso nos aleja de nuestra esencia, de nuestro propósito y puede incluso manifestarse como bloqueos o enfermedades en el cuerpo físico.

Hoy inicia una trecena bajo la energía de Ajaw Aj, que nos indica la fuerza interna, es la autoridad y el poder, es aprender el valor de cuidar, proteger y orientar para dar fortaleza. Aj nos dice que el camino comienza con el primer paso, así que hay que tomar acción, teniendo presente que todo se da al tener una buena base, unos buenos cimientos que nos proporciona Ajaw Aj. No es nada más que se nos llame hombres de maíz, pues nuestro altar, nuestro cuerpo están hechos de maíz. Hay otra conformación que es la casa, el espacio que habitamos, donde prendemos nuestra hoguera, nuestro hogar. Antes se hacían las casas de caña de maíz; esta nos da refugio, pertenencia, un espacio habitable en conexión con la Madre Tierra. De esa relación surge el poder, el quehacer de tu vida. Todos tenemos un espacio sobre ella, a la que pertenecemos y de la que somos guardianes temporales. Tener esa claridad para una buena estructura es la base de tu desarrollo.
