According to the teachings shared with me by my father, Tat Carlos Barrios, the way he practiced his Tz’apiq’ij was by focusing each day on a specific aspect. The first day he devoted to review. This is the day to reflect on what took place over the past year, if we celebrated Tz’apiq’ij the previous year, to look at what had been projected and see what turned out well, to understand why something that had been planned did not take place and what reasons prevented our intentions from being fulfilled. Today it is important to review our path, to see how we are and where we stand, to go deeper and determine what has brought us to where we are. We can write down the events that have occurred and the things that will later help us define the next cycle.
With the energy of Iq’, which was also the Mam of the year we are now concluding, we can connect with the wind that calms us when we need it, allows us to access our thoughts and brings us information and guidance. Let us allow ourselves, with B’elejeb’ Iq’, to feel with our whole being in full presence, letting the information and messages we need come forth with empathy.
Let us not forget that these are also days to free ourselves from the things that are no longer functional in our lives. It is a time to clean and organize our home in order to clear stagnant energy, to donate what we remove that is still in good condition, to settle debts, to ask for forgiveness if we have caused harm, even without intention, and to purify ourselves in every sense.

De acuerdo con las enseñanzas que me compartió mi papá, Tat Carlos Barrios, la forma en que él practicaba su Tz’apiq’ij era trabajando cada día en un aspecto específico. El primer día lo dedicaba a la revisión. Este es el día de hacer una recapitulación de lo sucedido durante el último año, si el año anterior celebramos el Tz’apiq’ij, de observar qué de lo que se había proyectado salió bien y comprender por qué algo planificado no se dio, cuáles fueron las causas y razones que impidieron concretar los propósitos. Hoy es importante revisar nuestro camino, cómo estamos y en qué punto nos encontramos, profundizar y determinar qué fue lo que nos trajo al lugar en el que estamos. Podemos escribir los acontecimientos que han sucedido y las cosas que luego nos ayuden a definir el próximo ciclo.
Con la energía de Iq’, que además fue el Mam del año que estamos finalizando, podemos conectar con ese viento que nos calma cuando lo necesitamos, que nos permite acceder a nuestros pensamientos y que nos trae información y guía. Permitámonos, con B’elejeb’ Iq’, sentir con todo nuestro ser en total presencia, que lleguen las informaciones y los mensajes que necesitamos y que lleguen con empatía.
No olvidemos que estos también son días para liberarnos de las cosas que ya no son funcionales en nuestra vida, es tiempo de limpiar y ordenar nuestra casa para despejar la energía estancada, podemos donar lo que saquemos y esté en buen estado, es tiempo de saldar deudas, pedir perdón si hemos causado algún daño, incluso sin intención, y purificarnos en todo sentido.
