A seed does not begin to grow in the sunlight, but beneath the soil. Before it receives light, it needs darkness.
We often fear darkness because we mistake it for nothingness. But if we observe a seed, we can see that life begins to gestate precisely in the darkness. A seed does not germinate in the sunlight, but in the darkness of the soil. It is there that it can break out of its old form, become something new, and begin the growth that will one day allow it to bloom.
When we stop seeing darkness as emptiness, we can begin to see it as the place where so many things can be born.
Una semilla no empieza a crecer bajo el sol, sino bajo la tierra. Antes de recibir la luz, necesita la oscuridad.
Muchas veces tememos a la oscuridad porque creemos que en ella no hay nada, pero si observamos una semilla podemos ver que es precisamente en la oscuridad donde la vida comienza a gestarse. La semilla no germina bajo la luz del sol, sino en la oscuridad de la tierra; es allí donde puede romper su antigua forma para convertirse en algo nuevo y da inicio al crecimiento que un día la llevará a florecer.
Cuando dejamos de percibir la oscuridad como un vacío, podemos empezar a verla como el lugar donde muchas cosas pueden nacer.
