Today, the power of Oxib’ Aj manifests, the Ch’umil who at the moment of creation emerges to lay the foundations. Its energy creates the conditions for the planetary systems and galaxies to take shape, so that everything in the Universe and on Earth finds its place, its foundation. This is the essence of Aj: to establish and sustain. It is the structures that uphold this reality and strengthen our being, the pillars that support us and connect us with the whole.
We can visualize the energy of Aj as a corn stalk rising towards the sky, connecting us with the cosmic; while, at the same time, in its contact with the earth, it gives us roots, connecting us with the telluric power. Aj is our being as the vessel in which the energies of the universe and the earth converge, intertwining us with the very essence of life.
Aj speaks to us about the sacred place we inhabit, it represents our body as the altar of our being, our home as that sanctuary that gives us shelter, and it is Mother Earth as the spiritual temple we all share. Its teaching invites us to honor every sacred space we occupy, to find security and strength within ourselves, our home, and our Earth.
