On this day, we receive the power and wisdom of Keb’ Kan, the Serpent as a symbol of movement and transformative energy. It is Q’uq’umatz, the Feathered Serpent, who rises from the earthly realm to ascend into the cosmic. Within the chain of creation, Kan emerges to set energy in motion; it is the force that initiates action. Its power extends from our DNA to the great spiral of the Universe. The essence of this Ch’umil is to be energy in evolution; it is the act of bringing knowledge into wisdom, thought into reality, and ritual into magic. It is the capacity to transmute all energy. After reaching the liberation that arises through K’at, Kan is the one who helps us transform our energies, to rise, like Q’uq’umatz, from the material to the spiritual, from the earthly to the cosmic.
