That which is sacred in the universe also lives within us.
The same energy that gives form to the Earth and the Universe, that gives light to the Sun, also gives us life. As above, so below. This is what the great Grandmothers and Grandfathers taught us. We are part of creation, and we are not separate from it.
Today we walk the day of Kab’lajuj Ajpu, the representative of the Sun, within the trecena of Toj, which speaks to us of the Ceremonial Fire, the Sun here on Earth.
May the fire we light today, may the candle we kindle, bring us closer to the sacred. May our offerings be a way of giving thanks for life, opening our hearts and speaking with the divine. May this fire remind us that we too are sacred, that we are part of the Universe, children of the Earth, a reflection of creation. May we never forget that just as the Sun and the Fire give their light, we too have a light to share.
Lo sagrado que vemos en el universo también vive dentro de nosotros.
La misma energía que da forma a la Tierra y al Universo, que da luz al Sol, también nos da vida a nosotros, como es arriba, es abajo. Así nos lo enseñaron los grandes Abuelos y Abuelas, somos parte de la creación, no estamos separados de ella.
Hoy caminamos el día de Kab’lajuj Ajpu, el representante del Sol, dentro de la trecena de Toj, que nos habla del Fuego Ceremonial, del Sol que está en la Tierra.
Que el fuego que hoy encendemos, que esa vela que prendemos, nos acerque a lo sagrado. Que nuestras ofrendas sean una forma de agradecer por la vida, de abrir el corazón y de hablar con lo divino. Que este fuego nos recuerde que nosotros también somos sagrados, somos parte del Universo, somos hijos e hijas de la Tierra, un reflejo de la creación. Que no olvidemos que así como el Sol y el Fuego dan su luz, nosotros también tenemos una luz para compartir.
