LAJUJ Q’ANIL ~ Today’s Ch’umil

Nawal Q'anilThese times show us the importance of moving from intention to action, reminding us that having the seed is not the same as making it grow.

When we plant a seed, the time, energy, and care we give it are what make it grow, and today invites us to remember that our projects, our dreams, our healing and growth are like that seed, they need our action to develop. I remember that my father, Tat Carlos Barrios, always spoke about the number Lajuj as the energy each of us has to create, but it is contained and needs to be activated to have power. Today invites us to see that, beyond wanting something or even the excitement that comes at the beginning, as we plant the seeds of what we desire, are we taking responsibility, are we using all the creative energy we have to move toward what we want in our lives?

I believe this day reminds us of the importance of consistency and action, it reminds us that we have the tools, the gifts, and everything we need to grow in every aspect of life, but that we are also co-creators, that we are responsible for how we use them or whether we use them; for things to grow we need to nourish them. The trecena tells us that even if our work may seem individual, we are evolving together, and that all the growth we reach within ourselves has an effect on others. May this day inspire us to bring energy and action into our personal growth so that together, as humanity, we can bloom into that Chol Winaq that Tat Mariano speaks of, the human being who has reached harmony, wholeness, and awakening.
