KAJIB’ KAME ~ Today’s Ch’umil

Share

Nawal KemeThe wisdom of the Mayas teaches us that time is not linear, it is cyclical, and that we go through the same situations over and over again until we are conscious enough to decide to make a change. This day brings the wisdom that we need to break cycles, to be able to identify that which is hurting us and transcend it. Let us remember that in order to transform ourselves we must learn to leave some things behind and experience a rebirth.

Ajaw Kame symbolizes death, but its energy does not only speak to us of physical death, it is also the closing and opening of the cycles of life, it is the change and the opening to new experiences and opportunities, it is the rebirth. Kame teaches us the importance of appreciating every moment of life, every step we take in our evolutionary process, every turn we make in the spiral of space-time. This Ch’umil is the one who guards our existence in this dimension, its power protects us from the moment we are born until we fulfill our purpose in this plane. Its energy also brings the power of the ancestors, it teaches us the importance of remembering and honoring those who have walked the path before us, for Kame connects us to our spiritual teachers, to the wise grandmothers and grandfathers who have transcended so that they can pass on their advice, protection, and guidance. Number 4 brings the wisdom that arises from the four directions and the four prime elements, it is the knowledge that we possess in each of our manifestations; physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual.
