Nawal KanKan represents vitality and movement. Number 1 symbolizes the beginning; its energy contains force and wisdom. This is a great day to start an exercise plan to improve your health. Today is the first day of the Kan trecena (thirteen days) during these days you can connect to the Ch’umil and ask for energy and fortitude; to transmute your knowledge into wisdom; to heal illnesses of the nervous system and for the return of loved ones.

Trecena Prayer by Don Pedro Ixchop

In this sacred day Ajaw Cholq’ij Kan, I am grateful that all anger in my thoughts, my body and my heart has faded. I ask you that there will be no turmoil in my path, that no anger can harm my health or my intelligence. Ajaw I ask you that there is no anger at my home, that there is no wrath from any people outside or inside of my house, and that there is no hatred, racism, intolerance or exclusion. Thank you Ajaw of the Sky and the Earth for fading all resentment, selfishness, envy, arrogance, lust, and pride which separate the sacred families over the face of Mother Earth. Thank you for granting strength and discipline to this family, to the people in the communities, so that our society can be guarded against incomprehension, so that there is no hatred or perversity that causes pain in our bodies, Ajaw of the Sky and of Mother Earth. I ask you Ajaw that all the enemies of your Sacred Spirituality will understand your power, Ajaw of the Sky and the Earth, so that they can find the path of the Spirituality of the Heart of Sky and the Heart of Mother Earth. Don’t allow that any person will lack your offerings, Ajaw. And keep, at every moment, with your divine strength the dignity and integrity that I have inside me. Maltiox, maltiox, maltiox and four times Maltiox.
